Despite it's name, allspice is actually only one spice but it tastes like a blend of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.

Allspice is the dried, unripe fruit of the pimento dioica tree. Whole allspice lasts much longer than powdered and can be ground as needed. It's very popular in Caribbean cuisine and desserts in the United States.

Great for mulled ciders or wines. Use it to add sweetness to marinades or as a unique addition to pickling spice.
